Arghlarghlarghlarrr.....popcorn....... I'm pretty sure that this was all I said the entire night of the movie party as I stuffed my face with handful after handful of Parmeson and Cracked Pepper Popcorn. This stuff is so tasty and addictive that I pretty much ignored all the guests and just kept chowing down on it.
Yield: Serves 20
- 2 cups popcorn kernels
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups finely grated parmeson cheese
- 1 tbsp cracked black pepper
Using a large kettle, pop the popcorn on the stove by heating half of the vegetable oil over high heat and placing one kernel of popcorn into the pot. When the kernel pops, pour 1 cup of the popcorn kernels into the pot and cover. Continuously shake the pot back and forth over the burner until all of the popcorn has popped. Immediately remove from heat and pour into a very large vessel. Repeat with the rest of the popcorn. Slowly drizzle the olive oil over the popcorn while tossing. Now slowly pour the parmeson cheese and sprinkle the pepper over the popcorn while tossing. Add more cheese or pepper to taste.
