  • 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup bbq sauce
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 3 tbsp dijon mustard

In a dutch oven, soak the beans overnight.  Drain off the water.  Add enough water to the pot to cover the beans with an additional inch of water.   Simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until the beans are tender.  Drain off the water.  Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Fry 3 strips of bacon and set aside.  Sautee the the minced onion in the bacon fat.   Crumble the bacon and add along with the onions and the bacon grease to the dutch oven.  In a separate bowl, whisk the garlic, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, bbq sauce, cider vinegar and mustard together.  Add the mixture to the beans and stir.  Cut 5 strips of bacon in half and place on top of the beans.  Bake covered for 1 hour.  Uncover and bake an additional 30 minutes.  Let cool for at least 10 minutes and up to an hour covered before serving.
